Violinist Gabriel Meza currently studies with Keng-Yuen Tseng at Peabody Conservatory. His past teachers include Qian Zhou, Kevin Lawrence, and Richard Luby. He has also studied chamber music with Alison Wells, Seth Knopp, and Ang Chek Meng. Meza has performed in masterclasses held by Wang Hong, David Bowlin, Sherry Kloss, and members of the Emerson, Ying, Borromeo, and Biava String Quartets. In Fall 2011, Meza attended a semester at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (Singapore). In 2012, he was awarded first prize in the Marbury Violin Competition held at Peabody Conservatory.
A recipient of several scholarships at Peabody, Meza would like to thank the Anonymous Donor for establishing the Annual Anonymous Scholarship, Mrs. Elizabeth Imbrogulio for establishing the Joseph and Elizabeth Imbrogulio Scholarship, and Ms. Dorothy Scott Bendann Leitch for establishing the Lindred Scott Bendann Endowed Scholarship in Violin at Peabody. Meza performs on a 1702 violin by Rogeri on loan from the Peabody Conservatory and is active in the music ministry at Trinity Assembly of God in Maryland. Wherever and whenever he plays, Meza dedicates his music to the glory of God.
